AUTISM TESTING

An autism evaluation helps understand how a person communicates, interacts with others, and responds to the world around them. It can test for signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and help guide support at home, school, or in the community.

Why Autism Testing?

  • Difficulties with social interaction, communication, or adjusting to changes

  • There are signs of repetitive behaviors or unusual interests

  • Concerns about delays in language, play, or emotional connection

  • To access appropriate support services, school accommodations, or therapies

  • To better understand and support unique ways of thinking and experiencing the world

What Is Involved?

Testing Time:

  • The process usually takes 2 to 6 hours, across one or two days.

Can include any/all of the following:

  • A detailed review of developmental, medical, and educational history

  • An in-depth interview about early development and current concerns

  • Observation of social interaction, communication, and behavior

  • Standardized testing and structured activities to assess social skills, language, play, flexibility, and sensory responses

  • Questionnaires completed by parents, teachers, and/or caregivers
     

Feedback session:

  • This is when we will meet and we will go over the report, the recommendations, and address any questions.
