ACADEMIC OR PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL TESTING

Academic or psychoeducational testing helps students and parents understand how a student learns, thinks, and functions in school. It helps identify areas of strengths and difficulties in various domains such as reading, writing, math, or other academic areas. Identifying these strengths and challenges can assist parents and teachers in developing plans and strategies to support a student’s success.

Why Academic/Psychoeducational Testing?

  • A possible learning issue in reading, writing, or math (like dyslexia or a learning disability)

  • To figure out what school supports or learning plans the student may need (such as an IEP, 504 plan, or gifted program)

  • Ongoing school struggles or falling behind, even when the student seems capable

  • Lower-than-expected scores on tests or exams
